Getting ready for Bengals vs Raiders.
George Benedict Simmons came home on Friday with the assistance of his big brother, Teddy.
We picked Teddy up on the way home from his friend Olivia's. He was very excited to meet George and gave him kisses.
George returned the love with a solid slumber
Teddy serenades Mom and George with his new banjo (and race car).
We're having a great time and adjusting to the new realities.Teddy has been a great big brother and is already looking forward to the day when George can play with him.
Mom and son are healthy, hungry and happy. We're getting to know him before we give him a name.

Getting ready for an amazing day and looking forward to meeting a new friend.
I love Fisherman's Wharf. Yes, it is a tourist trap. Yes, it is cheesy. Yes, there are better parts of the city. But it also has tons of hidden gems like the Musee Mecanique and the benches at Aquatic Park that make it all worth it. We took Teddy to Hyde Street Pier on an incredibly sunny Sunday and he loved it. We decided not to go on the boats because we know both grandparents will want to take him there and we thought we'd save it.
And in the maritime gift shop, I learned Teddy's new sentences as we looked at the model ships, flags and other nautical stuff we don't need.
"[Teddy] have it." Repeated five times. And then followed with the totally new, "[Daddy] buy it."

Always make sure your family projects require a power tool.
Allow the child to struggle with the power tool. This is called self-guided learning.
Eventually, the child will learn how not to use the tool. He is now on the road to craftsman.
He will be delighted with his new-found expertise.
Once the drill is mastered, move on to the delicate glass work. Kids love that stuff.
And finally, the project is complete. Admire your work and wait for the birds to congregate.
