Although Alethea and I were without our extended families, we made the best of the day by enjoying the calm and quiet of a sleepy San Francisco. We went crazy making meals as if there were folks to impress: eggs plates with fruit and lox breakfast, lunch with crab, macadamia and mango salad. We exchanged gifts and opened gifts from family. We even had stockings.
After the eating and gifting, we took a walk up to the holiday house on 22nd and then down through Dolores and the Valencia. We only saw about 50 people on our walk; an amazing un-sight for the city and a reminder of how small the city is.
Here are some shots for the grandparents...This is on our walk back home. Teddy was super fun all weekend and could tell that something was worth celebrating, even if he didn't know what.
Teddy with ginko leaf.
Teddy learned to grab, pull and put things in his mouth this weekend. I guess that's a good thing. I am very grateful for the time we spent this weekend. It was an important development time for him...and me.
Bed time on Christmas night. (Sad parents.) And check out T's rockin' holiday pajammers.
Here are some clips for the grandparents. We miss you. (These were shot just after The Night Before Christmas reading.)
